This is a critical year for women, and this series recognizes the Brisket Ribs ’20 shirt in contrast I will get this diversity of the artists and the women they celebrate. Women wrote books and articles, organized tea parties, parades, and conventions. Black women have been overlooked in the history of the suffrage movement, but they were not deterred. You will see here that many of the artists’ works were inspired by the activism of Black women whose names have been overlooked as well as the white women suffragists who made an intervention and fought for the right to vote against all odds.
